Whose life is it Anyway?
How many times are we overwhelmed with our love for our partner, our children, our family, etc? I guess many times!
But how many times are we overwhelmed by our love for God?
When I look at my life and the many challenges and heartaches I have been through, and I look at my blessings and my achievements in life, I can't help but recognise God's ever present hand in my life.
We ask God to help us when we are faced with difficulties, decisions, opportunities, etc.
But do we recognise that we actually work for God? We are accountable for our actions in life but at the end of the day it is God's love for us that is ever present in our lives.
How else do you explain how the various happenings in our lives?
Do you remember how you were so disappointed when you did not get the job you've applied for but the very next day you were informed that you have received a good promotion at your current employment? Or perhaps, you have just had your heart broken and then God sends someone so much more wonderful to take their place? Or when you wanted to buy a house and your offer wasn't accepted and the next week you find a better house for less than the price you would have paid for the house you didn't get? The list goes on and on.
God only wants the best for us and he sends people along our path that will add value to our lives and people who are to teach us valuable lessons.
Have you looked at the people around you and have you thanked God for sending those people into your life?
We at Fern Funerals want to be people like that.
We endeavour to provide you and your family with support and efficient service that will free you to grieve and sort out your lives, without having the added burden of arranging a funeral at this challenging time in your life.
We know that at the time of your bereavement, you may not be in the best frame of mind to organise such an important event as the funeral of your loved one - however your input will be respected. We will remove the burden of the finer arrangements like removing the body, storage of the body, viewing of the body, registering the death, organising the grave, organising the transport for the funeral, the coffin wreath, the pamphlets, the cross, etc.
In fact, all you need to do is call us at 084 5175033 and everything will be done by our office.
We are here to assist you on a physical level, leaving you to focus on the spiritual level. Because, after all is said and done, we are Spiritual Beings.
We need to focus on God, and make our world revolve around God. Everything else in life is merely an interruption!

Funerals with Dignity
I have recently lost my brother unexpectedly and our family was devastated. Although I am normally a very competent person and consider myself to be calm and composed, I was not prepared for the helplessness I felt during this period of time.
The shock of my brother's death - he was just 43 left our family with such overwhelming grief that made us almost unable to function.
Luckily, my older sister, was a lot stronger as I was completely useless.
She did all the funeral arrangements, planning, etc.
I have recently discovered that we would have been able to have a much more dignified, organised and also a much more economical Funeral Service if we had contracted Fern Funerals to do our Funeral.
Because I work extensively in the Eersteriver Area, and I am aware that people are a lot less sophisticated in these areas, I decided to put something back into the community by opening a franchise of Fern Funerals in the Eersteriver / Kuilsriver / BlueDowns Area.
Our Funeral Package we offer includes the following:
*Removal of Body (day or night)
*Preparation of Body
*Grave (public or private on demand)
*Grass Mats + Machine
*Pamphlets
*Coffin Wreath
*Gazebo & Chairs
*Storage of Body
*Coffin
*Hearse
*2 x family cars
*Registration of Death
*Church Trolley
*Bus
*Cross
Off hand, besides our funeral costing us more than double the cost of Fern Funeral's, we still had to organise our own pamphlets, Coffin Wreath, Cross, etc.
But I am not blaming anyone, as we were not in a state to make a good business decision at the time of my brother's death.
This is the same for most people.
It is for this reason that I would like to introduce Fern Funerals to you.
We also offer funeral policies for families, especially families who are not by the means to pay for a funeral in full at any given time. For a minimal monthly premium we undertake to do all the above for you, and we can either collect your premium or allow you to pay by debit order.
Even if you are by the means to afford to pay for a funeral at any given time, taking out a funeral policy with us will give you the peace of mind that should death strike you or your loved ones, all the above will be professionally seen to by Fern Funerals. All you have to do is complete your debit order forms and keep our telephone number handy.
Fern Funerals has been in operation since 1996. We offer full funeral service, funeral policies , cremations, tombstones, etc.
We have a fully equipped funeral parlour with a mortuary, viewing room and showroom with our coffins.
We are licensed with the FSB and our policies are administered by SANFA and underwritten by Prosperity Life.
You can call me on 084 5175033 to find out more
We provide funerals with Dignity for an Affordable price.
May God bless you and your families.

I would like God to be my partner in business
I asked God if he would like to become the Managing Director of my 2 businesses I have.
I hope he accepts because he has all the qualities that I require in a managing director.
God will lead me away from business that does not benefit all the parties involved. He will also not allow me to compromise my morals and principles for money.
The one thing I know that he won't do is, not be there when I need him.
But one of the most important things that I know God will do is, He will see every transaction from different points of view.
I know he will assist me in making my decisions and allow me to take positive calculated risks.
How honoured I will be when he works with me, guides me, etc.
And the only thing I have to do is pray about the things that I would like to do.

Why does it hurt so much when you try to do good?
I know of a person who helped her sister (sister A) when her sister (sister B) was down on her luck. She told her sister that she could stay with her for 1 month whilst she was trying to get herself organised.
She (sister A) saw that her sister(sister B) was lonely and suggested that her sister's son join her and live with her as well.
One month turned into two, into three, into four and when it eventually turned into six months and sister B did not appear to be trying to rehabilitate herself, sister A said that unless sister B starts paying her a reduced rental, sister B would have to find another place where she could continue to live for 'free' as this 'freebee' was getting a bit out of hand. When sister A discussed this with her other sisters' she could sense that they were not happy with her.
The sister who was staying for free(sister B), was for most of the time, not talking to her other sister(sister A). Obviously this situation was uncomfortable as people generally want to live amicably with each other on the same premises.
Unfortunately sister A snapped at the child because sister B and her child were not very industrious and did not maintain their part of the premises and the property was beginning to look neglected.
The other sisters were up in arms because sister A had 'confronted' the child about his and his mother's plans when the child had walked through her house, like he did every day as sister A looked after the child every afternoon until sister B came home.
I agree that sister A was very wrong about confronting the child, but what about sister B?
What was said or done about her taking advantage of sister A? What was said or done about their untidiness? What was said or done about their parasitic behaviour? What was
said or done about sister B going to the police and the other malicious things she tried to do?
And what was said and done about sister B standing in the rain with her child for almost an hour when sister B tried to force sister A to let her in after sister A had given her so much notice and chances.
And then the other sisters told sister A not to feel bad, because sister B is not cross with her?
I don't understand this, does anyone else?
Plse let me have your comments.
Kind Regards
Yvonne

Life is not All about Me
I discovered today that life is not all about me. How many times do we sit and wonder what life is about? What are we to do in this world?
Today, I discovered just how self-centred I have been. My prayers 'used to' read like a set of instructions to God... God, I'd like to earn more money, help me to get this and that, help my family with this and that, etc, etc.......
In our minds, life is all about us.
But, did you know that before we were even born, it was already destined, what family we would be born into, what lessons we are to learn and the people we are to help.
God, then allows us to grow and AMIDST our deepest CHALLENGES, do the real YOU emerge.
It may at times feel like God is throwing us over a cliff, but during those challenging times, God allows us to grow wings and to soar above our situations. I'm sure you have had situations like this in your life already, didn't you?
God never gives us a cross that is too heavy to bear.I love my God, He is so Great!!
